2nd Women of Honor Awards Ceremony

A Celebration of Extraordinary Women
The Washington Metro Area Women’s Ministries (WMAWM) presents the 2nd Women of Honor Awards Ceremony. Please plan to join us as we recognize, honor and celebrate amazing women who have exhibited an extraordinary dedication to: Empowering Women, Serving their Community, and Surrendering to God.
This year, we are excited to incorporate and recognize our young ladies ranging from age 12 through 17. They have also contributed and served in impactful and life-changing ways.
As a result of includint the young ladies, there will be a total of six categories this year. Three for the adult women (ages 18+) and also three for our young women (ages 12-17). The categories are described in detail further below and are as follows:

The Washington Metro Area Women’s Ministries (WMAWM) excitedly invites you to submit nominations for the 2nd Women of Honor Awards Ceremony. The awards ceremony will recognize ladies who have exhibited an extraordinary dedication to: Sisterhood, Community, and God through their demonstrated personal integrity, compassion, and Christian service.
The nomination period is open from Friday, May 1, 2026 to June 5, 2026 at midnight. For more information please contact your Women’s Ministries Leader or retrieve the nomination form package by clicking on the button below for each category.
Categories for the Adults 18+ years of age
The SHINE Award
Surrendering to God
Awarded to a woman whose life is a living testimony of surrender to God. She demonstrates faith in action and consistently allows God’s purpose to guide her decisions, encouraging others to walk in trust and obedience. Her service is marked by integrity, devotion, and a heart to draw others closer to Christ.
Nomination Guidance:
• Help others, especially women, encounter Jesus through her example
• Shares God’s goodness openly and inspires others to follow Him
• Exhibits personal integrity and consistent Christian service

The SPARK Award
Empowering Women
Awarded to a woman who inspires and uplifts other women to rise and thrive. She quietly and boldly provides support, mentorship, and encouragement that fosters confidence, leadership, and personal growth. Her influence reflects the Spirit-led power of love, joy, and encouragement, amplifying the accomplishments of women and strengthening communities of sisterhood.
Nomination Guidance:
• Advocates for women and girls through mentorship, guidance, and support in ways that reflect her faith and Spirit-led example
• Provides resources and encouragement without expectation of recognition
• Celebrates the achievements of others and creates space for women to shine, modeling the Fruit of the Spirit in action

The SHE.R.O. Award
Servicing Community
Awarded to a woman whose private acts of service ripple beyond what is seen, leaving a lasting, transformative impact. She identifies needs in her church or community and takes initiative to meet them, demonstrating compassion, dedication, and integrity. Her faithful service embodies a life of faith, showing love, kindness, and patience through quiet yet powerful acts that transform lives.
Nomination Guidance:
• Performs selfless acts of kindness and community service, guided by faith and Spirit-inspired compassion
• Demonstrates ongoing commitment, compassion, and integrity
• Earns trust, respect, and admiration through her quiet, impactful contributions, reflecting a Christ-centered approach to community service

Categories for the Young Ladies 12-17 years of age
The SHIMMER Award
Youth Faith
Awarded to a young woman who demonstrates a growing faith and encourages her peers to trust and follow God. She leads by example through prayer, kindness, and integrity. Her actions reflect a Spirit-led life, exhibiting love, joy, and patience as she inspires other young women to shine in their faith.
Nomination Guidance:
• Actively encourages peers to live out their faith through words and actions
• Shows kindness, patience, and integrity in daily life, reflecting the Fruit of the Spirit
• Demonstrates leadership among friends and in her community while modeling Christ-like character

The SPARKLE Award
Youth Empowerment
Awarded to a young woman who uplifts and empowers peers, inspiring confidence, leadership, purpose, and initiative. Her mentorship, encouragement, and advocacy help other young women see and step into their potential.
Nomination Guidance:
• Acts as a role model and cheerleader for other girls, helping peers shine with confidence and grace
• Shares skills, guidance, or resources to help peers thrive in school, church, or community projects
• Inspires others to grow, lead, and embrace their gifts

The RISING SHE.R.O. (She Reaches Out) Award
Youth Service
Awarded to a young woman who demonstrates selfless service and leadership in her school, church, or community. Her efforts may often go unnoticed but create a meaningful and lasting impact. She exemplifies initiative, compassion, and responsibility at a young age. Her service reflects love, kindness, goodness, and joy that positively influence those around her.
Nomination Guidance:
• Engages in acts of service that benefit others
• Demonstrates compassion, initiative, and commitment
• Inspires peers through her actions and example

Again, we invite you to recognize women who have humbly impacted the lives of others. There are so many deeds that go unnoticed. Let others know that you see them. Submit your nominations no later than May 9, 2026.
