Fighting Fear

Fear may be your greatest enemy. It can steal your joy, rob your peace, and paralyze your faith. It can dull your senses, confuse your mind, and produce irrational thoughts and behavior. Fear can cause us to say and do things we would never even consider under normal circumstances.

Jesus frequently told people to "fear not". He recognized the devastating effect that fear can have on our faith. If Jesus told us to "fear not", then that means we have the capability to do it.

When fear tries to come against you, resist it with your words. Repeat out loud 2 Timothy 1:7 "Jesus has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind." He also says in Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand". (NIV)

Therefore, arm yourselves with Faith given from the word of God so that you are prepared to fight and overcome the enemy of fear.
